Seth Wheatley worked on the Beta calutrons at the Y-12 plant in Oak Ridge during the Manhattan Project. He talks about African-American segregation, an often forgotten aspect of life in the city during the project. He discusses worker safety at Y-12 and raising a baby in the secret city of Oak Ridge. "Meet Seth Wheatley the featured man in my painting for our AG21 art show at the American Science and Energy Museum in Oak Ridge TN. I met Seth years ago through my daughter-in-law, Tabitha who is his great granddaughter. This amazing 97 year old was a part of the Manhattan Project during WWll in Oak Ridge. He graduated from Purdue University in 1943 with a degree in mechanical engineering. The show opened Saturday May18th and runs through July. It was a special day! Pictured is Seth, Tabitha, her husband Colby and their two boys Elliott and Booker."
