Robert Lee Spindle, Jr., age 73, of Haymarket, VA passed away on April 11, 2020 at his residence. He was born on December 13, 1946, in Washington, DC, son of Robert and Evelyn Bettis Spindle.
Proceeding Robert in death are his grandparents and parents. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dorothy Spindle; his cousin, Robert C. Weaver; his sister-in-law Marie Poos; sister-in-law, Patricia Gall and husband, John Gall; brother-in-law, Joseph Senneff and wife, Dorothy Senneff; niece, Dorothy Sarko and husband, Daniel Sarko; niece, Jennifer Mooney and husband, John Mooney; nephew, Joseph Senneff, Jr. and wife, Megan Senneff; niece Kathryn Llewelyn and husband, Andrew Llewelyn; niece, Johnie Scherzberg and husband, Brandon Scherzberg; nephew, Patrick Gall and twelve grand nephews and nieces.
Robert was a long-standing member of the American Radio Relay League, being a HAM Radio Operator most of his adult life. He retired after 45 years of service to AT&T. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a Mason and belonged to the Shriners.
He was a man with a dry sense of humor and quick wit that he shared with many. He was also a loving husband, and, having no children, chose to shower much of his attention on his three feline friends, Gabby, Smokey and Pooter. They all miss him very much.
