Mr. Ulis Lovell Tucker, W4YRK age 89 a resident of Auburndale, Fl. passed away Thurs., July 31, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Hospice Residential Center due to heart failure. Mr. Tucker was born July 22, 1919 in Mountain Grove, Mo. to Elbert and Elizabeth Briscoe Tucker. He was a resident of Auburndale since 1980 coming from Ormond Beach, Fl. He was a retired Chief for the Airway Facility Sector in Daytona Beach. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Auburndale, past Elder, worked for the war department during World War II and a member of the QCWA. Mr. Tucker was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Berta H. Tucker. Mr. Tucker is survived by his loving family 1 son Jim Tucker of Lakeland, FL., 1 sister Margarite Donald Wright of Bossier City, LA., 2 grandchildren James Jodi Tucker of Lakeland, FL., Jennifer Tucker of Lakeland, FL., 1 great grandson Aiden Tucker of Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers the family requests those so desiring to make donations in Mr. Tucker's name to either Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL. 33823 or the First Presbyterian Church of Auburndale, 410 Pilaklakaha Ave., Auburndale, FL. 33823. Funeral services will be held 11 00 AM Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Kersey Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Auburndale Memorial Park. Visitation will be held before service from 10 00 till 11 00 AM Monday, August 4, 2008 at the funeral home. Ulis received QCWA awards for years licensed from 50 through 70 in 5-year increments, the Century Club (age plus years as a QCWA member equal to 100) and the 50-Year Continuous License award. |
