Floyd Louis Durand, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Beloved husband of Georgia Blanchard Durand. Son of the late Floyd Louis Durand, Sr. and Anastasia Schindler Durand. Father of Catherine Durand Bono (Victor), Susan Durand Tabor (Charles), David Durand (fiance Colinda; late spouse Tanya), Richard Durand (Sherry), Floyd Durand, III (Melissa), and the late Frederick L. Durand, Sr. (Cathy). Grandfather of Frederick Durand, Jr. (Charlotte), Elizabeth Taravella (Anthony), Matthew Tabor (Amy), Francis Durand (Kristin), Virginia Mars (Joshua), Victor Bono, Jr., Adam Durand, Sr. (Tammy), Lauren Rogers, Meghann Anderson, Lindsay Cade (Christopher), Ian Shields (Oanh), Rosary Shields, Floyd Durand, IV, Marisa Durand, and Noah Durand. Great-grandfather of Kristen Durand, Logan Taravella, Carson Mars, Andrew Durand, Brenden Taravella, Cameron Fouquet, Kailyn Durand (Juan), Nathaniel Mars, Braden Mars, Adam Durand, Jarel Durand, Camryn Taravella, Caden Durand, Matthew Durand, Jayson Mars, Emma Tabor, Michael Durand, Collin Mars, Camille Durand, Matthew Tabor, Tyler Durand, Lexie Mars, Mollie Mars, Hadley Cade, Oliver Cade, John Shields, and one expected great-great-granddaughter. Brother of the late Anastasia Burmaster, Donald Durand, and Stanley Durand. Age 92 years, and a resident of Algiers, LA. Floyd was a United States Navy Veteran having served during World War II. He spent his career until retirement as Lieutenant with Jefferson Parish Sherriff's Office and New Orleans Police Department, having supervised the installation of the Jefferson Parish 911 System. He was also an employee of the IC Railroad. The family wishes to thank Louisiana Hospice and St. Margaret's at Bellview for their loving care. He will be deeply missed by all. |
