Norman resident James Howard McElhany, 94, was born Aug. 12, 1920, to Rhoda Jane (Taylor) and Charles Howard McElhany in Norman.
He passed Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at his home. Howard married the love of his life, Lorraine J. Gibson on Sept. 13, 1946, in Ft. Smith, Ark.
He worked for the OU Press as a linotype operator, later becoming the production manager. He went on to become the manager of the Alphatype Department. Howard is survived by his wife, Lorraine J. McElhany of the home; nephews, James McElhany of Iowa, Charles McElhany of Norman, John McElhany of Norman, David Gibson of Tulsa, Bob Gibson of Florida and James Gibson of California; niece, Dee Jones of Edmond; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Services for Howard will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church of Norman.
Burial will follow at Norman IOOF Cemetery.
