Norman M. Wilson, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully in his sleep on August 13, 2010."Norm," to all who knew him, was a loyal friend who loved life and giving back to others. Kind hearted to all, he had a genuine love of people. His sense of humor reflected his easy going personality and optimistic look on life.
He and his wife, Jo Ann, were married 57 years before she died in 2007. During their marriage, they had three children, Marilyn, Linda and Michael; six grandchildren, Melissa, Joanna, Brian, Brandon, Paul and Christopher; and three great-grandchildren, Molly, Tobias and Zoe.
Norman believed in volunteering and served with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Team and worked with the Red Cross during the Oklahoma City bombing.
He was an Avid HAM radio Operator for over 50 years, and everyone "on the air" knew him by his call sign, "W5FLO - The Friendly Little Okie." He LOVED to watch the OU Sooners play football.
Norman loved God, adored his wife, Jo Ann, cherished his children and grandchildren and a was a loyal patriot. He served his country for over 20 years in the Army and Air Force, serving in Vietnam. He was a retired TSgt USAF. He also retired from the US Postal Service.
A service to celebrate Norman's life will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010, 10 A.M., at the Meadowood Baptist Church, 2816 Woodcrest Drive, OKC 73110, with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens. There will be visitation at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home, 8805 N.E. 23rd St., OKC 73130, on Thursday, August 19, 2010, 6-8 P.M. The angels are rejoicing at your arrival in heaven, but we will miss you daddy!
