A native of New Orleans and resident of Baton Rouge passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday December 4, 2013 at the age of 87. He was a WWII Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. He retired from Dow Chemical with 30 years of service. He is a member of Port Allen Masonic Lodge 212 and a member of Baton Rouge Ham Radio Club. His call letters are W5IEE. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Montz Lockhart; two daughters; Gwen Lockhart of Baton Rouge and Sharon Phillips and husband Farley of Denham Springs; two grandsons; Louis Normand of Mandeville and Brian Normand of Prairieville; one granddaughter, Jennifer Phillips of Denham Springs; three great-grandsons; Connor Phillips, Miles Normand, and Cale Normand; great granddaughter, Callie Normand; and his faithful pet poodle, Mitzi. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Lockhart; his parents, Louis Lockhart, Sr. and Eunice Hawkins. Our family would like to express their sincere thanks to Veronica, Caroline, and Alaina with Generations Hospice for their compassionate care. We would also like to thank The Healing Place Church for their kindness. Visitation will be held Monday December 9, 2013 at Greenoaks Funeral Home from 12PM until Funeral Service at 2PM.
