James Brooks, 86, passed away June 17, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born September 1, 1923 at Pine Bluff, Arkansas to James and Hortense Brooks. He enlisted in the United States Navy on August 5, 1941 and served aboard the USS Enterprise CV6, USS Petrof Bay CVE 80 and the PBY Patrol Squadrons during World War 11. After Hazel passed away, Marlena his long time friend and companion took care of him and was a true friend since 1971. He worked for IBM as a tech specialist for many years prior to his retirement.
James is survived by his dear friend and companion, Marlena A. DuCharme; nephews, Howard E. Brooks of Benton, Arkansas, Marshall, Raymond, Louis and Kirk Brooks of North Little Rock, Arkansas; nieces, Marguarete Mayfield and Karla Langford of Benton, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his wife Hazel.
