Weston George Strauch 'Wes' on Sunday, November 16, 2014, age 97 years.
Husband of the late Margaret Abadie Strauch for 54 years. Father of Kathy Gennuso and the late Weston M. (Mark) Strauch.
Survived by five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and their children. Also survived by his companion, Mrs. Bertha Fink.
Weston was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. He received a degree in Journalism and enlisted in the US Army as a photographer in the Signal Corps. He served in France, Belgium and Germany and received 4 battle stars.
After WWII, he went to work in the refrigeration industry, eventually forming his own company, Refrigeration Equipment Co.
Weston was an Amateur Radio Operator with the call of W5VBX. He served as President of the New Orleans VHF Club for four years, President of the Delta DX Association for two years and as President of The Lake Oaks Civic Association for two years.
He was a life time Member of the American Society of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ASHRAE).
Weston was an active member of The Greater New Orleans Photographic Society and won awards for pictures entered into competition.
