Inez Gillett Cole was born on June 10, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas entered into rest on February 11, 2011 at the age of 84. Inez was an amateur radio operator since 1952, her call sign was W5WXT and she belonged to various radio clubs. She worked for Southwestern Bell for 37 years and was a Telephone Pioneer. Inez was active with the Good Sam Bluebonnet Chapter, QCWA and Friends International. Her family, were some of the original settlers who formed and colonized the city of Castroville, Texas. They came from the country of Alsace-Lorraine, France. She was preceded in death by Irene Taylor Gillett, her mother; Lillian Gillett, who raised her; and E.W. Hudson, her brother. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Ralph N. Cole; daughter, Linda Cole Huston and husband Craig; grandson, Steve Nixon; nephew, Wade Hudson and wife Nancy; and numerous family and friends. Visitation will be from 5-9:00 pm on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at funeral home chapel.
