Ralph Saroyan, W6JPU, QCWA #29648, was first licensed in 1934. He served in the U. S. Navy as an electronics technician during World War II. He was a pioneer in Amateur Radio, having the first repeater in the San Joaquin Valley of California. He was a pioneer in the change from AM to SSB. He was one of the first on 2m after the war. He was an active builder on ham radio equipment. He served as the ARRL Section Communications Manager from 1955 to 1976. |
