On Dec. 29, 2018, William Lee Ozment passed peacefully in Davis, CA.
Bill, the son of Frank and Uvelda Ozment, is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Wilson Ozment, their four daughters, Judy Ozment, Lynda Webb, Karen Pesis, and Susan Thompson, six grandchildren, and his sister, Betty McCann Adams in Utah.
Bill was born in 1929, in Oakdale, CA. He and Loretta married in 1955. Their family lived in Camino and Orangevale, CA. Bill was a devoted husband and father and an advocate for education and community service.
Bill served four years the US Navy. He earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from UCBerkeley in 1957 and a MS Degree from Sac State in Engineering in 1980.
He worked for Aerojet 1957-1972 and the Citrus Heights Fire Department/Sacramento County Fire Department 1972-1990.
He was active in amateur radio from the time he received his HAM license in 1951 with the call sign W6LSW until his retirement years when he trained others to provide vital communication during emergencies.
He relocated to Pollock Pines, California, with his wife where they resided for the last 28 years.
A memorial service will be held at the Pollock Pines Community Church.
