Thomas A. Wynne, M.D. March 9, 1919 - March 13, 2002 Born in Indianpolis, Indiana, Dr. Wynne was a resident of Sierra Madre since childhood.
While enlisted in the Navy during World War II, he attended Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans where he met and married Arline Villien, his wife of 58 years.
He then performed post-war service with the Veterans Administration before entering private practice. A devoted family physician based in Pasadena, Dr. Wynne was also an active staff member of St. Luke's Hospital before his heath-related retirement in 1979. In addition, he served as staff physician at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory from 1954 to 1979 and regularly volunteered his expertise to the Flying Samaritans in Baja California.
He is survived by Arline and his four children, Catherine Wynne of Long Beach, Thomas Wynne, Jr. of Sierra Madre, Margaret Wynne of Newport Beach and James Wynne of Sierra Madre. He also leaves five grandchildren and brother, Bernard Wynne of Sierra Madre.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel at the Mater Dolorosa Retreat Center in Sierra Madre.
