First Call: WN6ACV issued in 1970 Other Call(s): WB6ACV & KK6DH
HI, thanks for stopping by. First licensed in 1970 (age 13) as WN6ACV. My novice station comprised of a homebrew transmitter using a pair of 807's and a Hammarlund HQ-120 receiver. The antenna was a 14AVQ vertical.
I upgraded to General in 1976 WB6ACV and shared the station with my dad W6ST (sk), operating a Drake TR-3 and a homebrew amplifier using a 4cx1000a. I upgraded to Advanced (KK6DH) and Extra in 1990 and applied for dad's call in 1996. General Radio Operators License (GROL) in 1997. The station then in So. California was a Kenwood TS940sat and a Cushcraft A3S at 40 feet. I was an club officer with the Santa Clarita Amateur Club and VE with the Greater Los Angeles Amateur Radio Group.
I retired in 2014 after 30+ years at AT&T as a construction lineman in Los Angeles. We now live in Prescott Valley, AZ and just love it here.
