W6VO - Bradford S. 'Brad' Ormsby
First Call: WN6GLE issued in 1975       Other Call(s): WA6GLE

I was first licensed in 1970 and my call was WN6GLE and then became WA6GLE. My first station was in Santa Barbara, CA on the beach in Montecito, a great ground plane. I collected my dream station equipment and put together the Collins S Line, it only took a six-foot table to set it up! I sold my S Line in the 90's and have been sorry ever since. In 2019 I bought a Collins KWM-2 and a Station Controller 312B-4 from a local Amateur Radio friend, who was ready share, I could not be happier. Just for listening fun, I got a Collins 51J4 receiver.

My current QTH is Westlake Village, CA and Big Bear Lake, CA.

My Wife Marjorie is KB6YQD, my Daughter Ashley was KJ6JWS and has taken over my old call WA6GLE and my other Daughter Kirstyn is KN6IVD.

My current station is the Elecraft K Line and my new Collins KWM-2, sharing a Vertical Antenna.

I belong to ARRL, Life Member, Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club, CVARC, Big Bear Amateur Radio Club, BBARC. My SKCC number is 7010 and my CWops is 2305.

I enjoy HF, VHF and UHF, Phone, CW, Digital modes, Dstar and DMR. I belong to Linked UHF Groups, Rabbit Radio Network, Papa System and Darn System.

I am an active member in ACS, ARES-LAX Northwest and DCS emergency services for Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.

I am a volunteer examiner for GLAARG, greater Los Angeles and ARRL.

I was in the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserves. 1970-1976 and my MOS was Field Radio Mechanic, Radio Repair.

I am a Certified Public Accountant, CPA and practice in Westlake Village, CA.

My other hobbies are Woodworking and Cooking, when I am not playing Amateur Radio.
