I became interested in Ham Radio during my Senior Year at Monterey Union High School in Monterey, CA. (1959)Entered the Air Force on graduation night and obtained my Novice license at my first duty Station, Hamilton AFB,(CA)WN6LDE, Out of ham radio during the first 12 years of USAF career. Got back into it during the late 70's and have been busy with it ever since. My main interest is DXing with some occassional contesting. Have held several different call signs to include WN6LDE, WB7SRY, KA6CDP, N6BLN, WW6F. and finally W6WF.

Honor Roll, 8BDXCC, WAS (Triple Play), WAZ,WPX and YASME Award. Retired from the USAF 1979. Worked several jobs until I moved to Texas and went to work for the Texas Division of Emergency Management. My wife of 48 years passed away in 2009 and left me with 2 Fine Sons and 4 grandchildren. My oldest son Mike is N6WWF and my son Steven is K6WWF. After retiring from the State of Texas in 2012, I moved back to Monterey, CA. Met and married my high school sweetheart (Eydie) and a new life has begun.

Have operated DX as KJ6BZ (Johnston Atol Base Station 1964), VP5X, and VP5W

OTHER INTEREST HOBBIES: Licensed Private Pilot, Stamp Collecting, Fly Fishing, Fly Tying, Flying Radio Control Model Airplanes, Driving and Restoring Model A Fords (28-31), and Model Railroading.
