Chandler Noren Caughie Sr, 94, of Olympia, WA passed away May 25, 2010 at St Peter's Hospital.
Chandler was born July 1, 1915 in Bremerton, WA to Earl Robert and Ella E. (Anderson) Caughie.
He attended school in Bremerton and Olympia.
He served his country as a CWO4 (Chief Warrant Officer Four) in the United States Navy. Chandler worked for Boeing Aircraft from 1958 - 1971, as a real estate agent 1973 - 1976, and for Sun Oil in 1977.
He was an avid Ham Radio Operator (Call Sign: W7EST), had a strong interest in the Republican Party, and was a Lutheran with strong Christian Beliefs. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lacey.
Chandler was known as an avid storyteller, proud of his accomplishments, and loved life.
Surviving Chandler are his wife, Orpha; sons, Wayne of Kent, WA and Chandler Jr. of Olympia; daughters, Ella Wilson of Golden Valley, AZ and Susan Caughie of Bremerton; 3 grandchildren; a brother, Robert Caughie of Bremerton, WA; and a sister, Eleanor Hertz also of Bremerton.
Family is planning a Graveside service, June 3, 2010, 1:00 PM at Masonic Memorial Park, 455 North St SE, Tumwater, WA.
In June of 1952, Chandler married, Orpha Stangeland.
