@ QRZ:
I was first licensed in 1937 at the age of thirteen. My first call sign was W9ZAW in Kansas.
I have a BSEE degree in electrical engineering and during WWII I served in the Western Pacific area with the US Navy as a Technical Radar Officer.
I supervised the installation and service of ship-board radars. Also installed GCA radars at Naval Air Bases on Guam, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and later in Japan after the surrender.
After the war I was employed in the aero-space industry for thirty years except for two years when I contstructed several AM/FM radio and TV broadcasting stations on the east coast.
Currently I am retired from Hughes Aircraft Co. in Tucson Arizona, and we enjoy our summer home at Pinetop in the White Mtns. in NE Arizona where I also have a ham radio station.
