Dennis "Denny" Ronald Barth died peacefully in Prineville, OR on January 10th, 2019 at the age of 75 surrounded by his family.
Denny is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Barth of Prineville, OR; son, Thomas Barth of Portland, OR; sister, Susan Carter of Portland, OR; and by his seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Barth; mother, LaVerne Neely; daughter, Crystal Wear; son, Dean Barth; and daughter, Darlene Barth.
Denny was born on October 16th, 1943 in Lone Pine, California to Aubrey and LaVerne Barth. Denny was very passionate about Ham radio operation, which he became involved in at the age of 13. In 1960, he joined the Navy as a radioman and was a part of troop carrier that transported injured troops. Denny then started his satellite radio company in 1980 with much success. On October 15th, 1964, he met Diane Smith, who became his wife the next day. Diane and Denny shared an adventurous marriage of 55 years. He had an immense love for his wife that was very evident. They lived in Oregon most of their life together and had four children.
Denny was one of a kind and is remembered as many things by many people. He never failed to be his most genuine self, even when it wasnât the most appropriate. He was extremely passionate about the Ham radio community and loved his family deeply. Denny left a lasting impression on everyone he met and is unforgettable.
A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, January 17th at 2:30 pm at Prineville Funeral Home, with a reception to follow.
A second funeral is scheduled for Friday, January 18th, at Willamette National Cemetery, with a reception to follow.
