Ruby Platt Greene 1925 - 2006 Ruby Platt Greene passed away May 3, 2006, at the age of 81 in Bountiful, Utah. Ruby was born February 8, 1925, in Newcastle, Utah to Robert and Eathel Leavitt Platt. She attended schools in Newcastle, Cedar City, and St. George, Utah. She married Ervin Nephi Greene on July 24, 1952. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised six children. She was preceded in death by her husband and oldest daughter, Merra Lee. Also preceded in death by her brother and five sisters. Mom spent her life being of service to her family. She served numerous positions in the LDS church and spent many hours helping her husband run the family electronics business. She worked many years for Granite Furniture Company where she enjoyed close friendships. Her children remember her homemade bread and rolls, hamburger pizza on Saturday nights, and the countless hours she spent crocheting, quilting, embroidering, and knitting sweaters for her children and grandchildren. She loved genealogy and worked tirelessly on scrapbooks and pedigree sheets that would leave a record of her family's heritage. She loved to go camping with her family, especially to visit her "beloved red rocks" of Southern Ut. She is survived by four sons and one daughter, Donall Ervin Greene (Kimberly), Sandy; Kipp Nephi Greene (Jeanne Zeigler), Salt Lake City, Wendy McLachlan (Bryan), North Salt Lake, John Robert Greene (Jane Townsend), Holladay; Michael James Greene (Melissa Patten), Holladay, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her family wishes to express their appreciation to the many people at Life Care Center in Bountiful for their constant, tender care of Ruby during the past five and a half years of her life. Their service will never be forgotten. Services will be held Monday May 8, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, where friends may visit Sunday evening from 7-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday.
