John Coryell Black
John passed away peacefully in Shoreline, WA on June 13, 2016 at the age of 94. He was born on July 8, 1921 in Seattle to loving parents, Lunsford and Ruth Black. He grew up on Vashon Island and graduated from Vashon High School, went on to graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington State College, and served honorably in the Army.
His career included working for Boeing and the Washington State Patrol before starting and successfully running Radio Systems in Seattle for over 26 years. He was also a life-long Ham Radio enthusiast, enjoyed bird hunting and tennis.
John is survived by his sons Jeff Black and Keith Black, step-daughter Carol Pemberton, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife Marian Black (27 years married), second wife Alice Black (39 years married), son Lloyd Black and stepson Bruce Elson.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday July 2, 2016 at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145th Pl SE, Bellevue, WA, 98007.
