Eugene E. Beck, 93, of Olympia, Washington, died Thursday, November 5, 2015. Gene was born November 7, 1921 in Renton, Washington to Eric and Adeline Beck.
Gene graduated from Olympia High School in 1938 and later attended the Washington Technical Institute in Seattle.
He obtained an amateur and FCA commercial radio license in 1940. In 1941, Gene began his 40-year tenure with the Washington State Patrol in Communications.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and again during the Korean Conflict in 1951.
He married LaVina Paulson on July 29, 1949.
He is survived by five nieces and two nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife, LaVina, in 2007, and brother, Wallace Beck.
A memorial service will be on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 2:30 p.m., at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Olympia.
