Clement Kelsey Chase 96, of Tucson, died January 23, 2012 from complications of pneumonia. He was born on July 16, 1915 in Toledo, OH. Preceded in death by his parents, Clement Edwards Chase and Helen Mar Kelsey; his wife of 57 years, Bertha Grasham Chase; daughter, Anne E. Chase; sister, Alice Gibson; brother-in-law, Sam T. Gibson and nephew, Stephen C. Gibson. Survived by son, Clement G. (June L.) Chase; grandchildren, Anne L. Chase and Katherine E. Chase; brother, Sherret S. (Catherine (Kenny) Chase; nieces, Catherine (CiCi) Peters, Helen K. Chase, Alice R. C. Robeson, Lucy G. Simpson, Judith G. Meador, Lena Gibson; nephews, Sherret E. Chase and Wilson Compton Chase-Lansdale.
Clement received his BA in Spanish, 1938 and BS in Engineering, 1943 from the University of Arizona. His avocations were ham radio (Quarter Century Radio Club), photography and cinematography, and hiking and mountaineering.
We will sorely miss this energetic, bright and durable world traveler. Private Services were held at EVERGREEN MORTUARY. The family would like to thank El Rancho Encanto assisted living facility and Patricia Weiss for easing his care. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
