Frazier F. "Dave" Davidson of Eugene, Oregon died Feb. 10 of age-related causes. He was 80.Mr. Davidson was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Pennsylvania, to Frazier and Helen Christman Davidson. He married Emily Austin on April 13, 1982, in Eugene.He served in the Army during World War II and in the Army Reserve, working in communications and attaining the rank of second lieutenant. He moved to the Eugene area in the 1940s, after the war. He received an associate's degree from Lane Community College.Mr. Davidson operated the Davidson Ice Cream store in Springfield and also worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 37 years. He enjoyed being a ham radio operator and taught ham radio courses at Lane Community College. He also enjoyed reading and learning about the MARS program. He was a volunteer with the blind and belonged to the United Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ann Marie Hubbard of Springfield; a son, Milo of Crescent Lake Junction; a stepdaughter, Julie Horn of Eugene; two stepsons, Jim Thomas of Springfield and Phil Thomas of Texas; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.Inurnment at Lane Memorial Gardens. |
