Born 1918 in Los Angeles, Calif. First call: W1IWK in Hampden, Mass. April 2, 1935 A few other calls held: W6ORE, W1NHV, KA7GH (Itazuke Air Base on Kyushu), KA8GH (Misawa AB), KA6GH (Okinawa)...all in the late 60's and early 70's, DA2GH Fuerth near Nuernberg (Nuremberg) Germany and many others..

Taught in the DOD Dependents Schools in Japan twice and in Germany twice at several military bases: Camp Drake, Misawa, Baumholder, Kaiserslautern, Munich, Itazuke AB, Misawa AB, Nurnberg(Fuerth) for 23 years. Also taught at Bainbridge Island High School in WA, Ouray CO.

First "job" CCC Sequoia National Park CA in 1939; first real job: NDO section of the FCC in Boston 1940-41 (later called RID section) listening for subversive stations. WWII...1941-1945 General Electric Co Electronics Div, Bridgeport Conn Receiver Engineering Dept. (Radar), then Radar Field Service in NY City in Brooklyn Navy Yard. Univ. of Colorado, Boulder 46-50 and New Mexico Highlands Univ (NSF academic year institute) and earlier at LACC Retired in 1981.

Belong to Retired Teachers and Mountaineers and Radio Club of Tacoma (working with W6LIX and W6NBD in RCT Radio Museum putting antique radios on air..trying to get the chirps out..under call of W7OS, memorial call of Dr. Clifford Spike, a founder of the club in 1916)

On "Whiskey Group" 3957 kHz 9PM Pacific Time, 3948 kHz 7 AM Pacific Time with evening alternative freq. at 1870 kHZ when 75 starts skipping in winter months, usually by 9:15 or 9:30 PM Pacific Time...(also 3950 at 4 PM and 7260 at 4:30 PM..join us!!
