BEAMS, Russell R. 84, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Thursday February 23, 2006 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born April 13, 1922 in Lincoln Nebraska the son of the late Ross & Maude (Anderson) Beams. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII. He was a ham radio operator for over 75 year's, call sign W8AAL. He was member of the QCWA for over 65 years. He retired in 1981 after 40 years of service as a lead electronic engineering technician with the U.S. Air Force, Aeronautical Systems Division at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He was an F&AM at the Vandalia, Ohio Lodge. He was a member of the Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Miriam Beams; a son, Geoffrey A. and his wife Pat Beams and a son, Michael E. Beams all of New Carlisle; two grandsons, four great grandchildren; a brother, Wayne and his wife Patricia Beams of Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, David W. Beams. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday February 28, 2006 at the TROSTEL-CHAPMAN FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio with Rev. Tom Mellott officiating. Burial at Dayton Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Monday Feb. 27 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church.
