Chapter 142

I have been licensed as W8CNJ since 1961. My previous call from 1956-57 as a novice was KN2VJN.

I am an Army veteran and served on active duty from February 13, 1959 until April 3, 1962. I am a member of The American Legion.

I worked for ATT Communications in Toledo,Ohio for 23 years. I took early retirement in 1990.

The XYL and I moved to Las Vegas,NV and lived there for 10 years. We returned to the Toledo area in June of 2000 due to my XYL's illness and her desire to be near the family.

I work mostly cw and a little bit of ssb using a multi band dipole that is hanging inside the garage. I also have equipment to work 2 meters, 220, 440,and 1.2Ghz. Very infrequently I work 6 meters.

On 4-16-2004 the XYL received a liver transplant. I regret to add that my XYL passed away on 6-6-2004. Her new liver was functioning just fine, other problems took her from me. I miss her very much.

I am a member of the ARRL, The Wood County Amateur Radio Club,Toledo Mobile Radio Association, Greater Toledo Amateur Radio Association,QCWA, QCWA Chapter 142,Old Timers Club, Old Old Timers Club, Fists, Flying Pigs QRP Club, Straight Key Century Club, The American Legion Amateur Radio Club and the NAQCC.
