Harold C. Chapman Harold Charles "Chappie" Chapman was born 21 Aug 1922 to Hobart M. and Ethel Hughes-Chapman in Lodi, Ohio. He married Maxine L. Landes on 20 May 1944 in Augusta, Georgia.He served in the U.S. Army during WWII with the 10th Armored Divisions in the European Theater Operations. Harold was a member of the Lutheran Church of London, Wayne County Historical Society. Chaplain of the Kieffer Post No. 1081, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Wooster. He was an avid amateur radio operator W8HC and belonged to the Wayne County Radio Technical Society of Wooster.On 08 Mar 1948 he was appointed to the Ohio Highway Patrol District One Headquarters in Findlay, Ohio as a Radio Operator, where he retired 25 May 1974 as the Chief Communications Technician Officer IV. Afterwards, he went to work for the Bureau of Criminal Identification in London, Ohio. He was survived by his wife, 3 sons, a daughter, nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. |
