Robert R. Ruble, 76, of Kent, died Monday. Born March 21, 1921, in Marion, Ind., he was the son of Raymond W. and Vivian (Boxell) Ruble.
Mr. Ruble retired from Kent State University, where he was director of vending.
Mr. Ruble was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kent, the Tree City and Mahoning Valley National Wood Carvers clubs, past presidentof the Kent Lions Club and a member of Rockton Masonic Lodge No. 316 in Kent.
He had been an amateur radio operator since 1951.
He served as a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II.
Survivors include: sons Gary L. of Akron, James L. (Vicki) of Mansfield, Richard A. (Linda) of Port Townsend, Wash., and Jeffrey R. of Orem, Utah; three grandchildren; brother Jack (Fran) of Barberton; sister Jean Tannert of Kent; and friend, Dorothy Egan of Hudson.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Kent Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Fenton St. John officiating.
Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent.
