Thomas P. Harrington passed away at his home in Tuckasegee, North Carolina on November 10, 2015 at the age of 92.
Harrington is best known in radio electronics circles as a former owner of Universal Radio and Universal
Electronics, author of books on satellite and radio communications and developer of various TVRO satellite products.
Tom W8OMV, was an active amateur radio operator and member of ARRL, EAA and QCWA.
Harrington was an entrepreneur involved with many businesses in the US, Mexico and the Bahamas.
He was a decorated World War II pilot for the Royal Canadian Air Force, the RAF and US Army in Europe.
Harrington was willing to share his impressive technical knowledge and business experience with friends and colleagues.
He will be greatly missed by many radio friends and business associates.
