Helen V. (Raugh) Smith, 90, of 209 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore, died at 6:52 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2001, in Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.
She was born Jan. 21, 1911, in Wise, W.Va., to George and Alice (Snyder) Raugh. On Jan. 9, 1931, she married Dr. F.M. Smith, W8QOV, who survives.
Survivors also include: a son, Dr. D.P. Smith of Sycamore; a daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Virginia) Thompson of El Paso, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Sycamore United Church of Christ, the Mohawk Sixty Plus Club, both the Mohawk and the Wyandot County Historical Society, a former member of the Sycamore Literary Club, Wyandot Memorial Hospital Guild, and the Enterprise Chapter 345 O.E.S. in Sycamore.
She was a homemaker and former bookkeeper at Sycamore Medical Associates. She was also a licensed amateur radio operator and loved to read and do needlework.
Memorial services will be private. There will be no visitation.
