Casimir "Cass" Srednicki, age 85Cass was born in Akron and raised in Poland.During World War II he served in the Polish Army and fought in the Battle of Berlin.After the war he returned to Ohio, where met his beloved wife of 57 years, Helen (nee Samerdak), who preceded him in death.Cass spent most of his life in Mogadore, working as a designer-draftsman for Goodyear Aerospace and later Goodrich Tire and Rubber Company. He served on the Mogadore Village Council for eight years, and was an active member of the Mogadore Lions Club. Cass was an avid ham-radio operator (call sign W8TVN). He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Eloise and granddaughter, Julia, who brought much joy to her grandparents.Cass and Helen's kindness and graciousness touched the lives of many, and they were much loved in return.Published in the Akron Beacon Journal from Jul 4 - Jul 7, 2008. |
