George Lee Morrow
November 13, 1929 ~ December 8, 2017 (age 88)
George Lee Morrow of Salem passed away after a long illness on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 9:10 a.m. in his residence surrounded by his family. He was 88.
Mr. Morrow was born in Washingtonville, OH on November 13, 1929, the son of the late George W. and Mary Weikart Morrow.
George was a 1947 graduate of Leetonia High School. Following high school, he proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp from 1948 to 1952. During the Korean War, George was a Sergeant in the 1st division 7th Marine Battalion.
He retired in 1992 from Lucent Technologies, formerly AT&T after 40 years of employment.
Mr. Morrow was of Methodist faith. He was an active Ham Radio operator. His call was W8WFB for over 70 years. George had thousands of contacts throughout the world. He was an active member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5532 Washingtonville, American Legion Post 131 Leetonia, Fraternal Order of Eagles No#1496, Telephone Pioneers and AMVETS.
George is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Dalrymple Morrow, whom he married September 28, 1952. They recently celebrated 65 loving years of marriage; 3 children, Terry Morrow of Salem, Tim (Patty) Morrow of Struthers, and Kimberly (Chuck) Gregory of Austintown; 3 brothers, Charles (Beverly) Morrow, Gene (Ruth) Morrow, Don (Bonnie) Morrow; 3 sisters, Patty (Walt) Sutton, Ann Wellman, and Helen Kukowski; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jan, Jerry, and Paul Morrow.

The family would like to thank Visiting Physicians Association and Grace Hospice Nurses Aids and staff for their compassionate care for George. Also thank you to Pastor Kari for her visits and prayers.
At George.s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A memorial service and military honors will be held at a later date.
