Robert F. Haas, age 88, Jasper, Indiana, died at 3:56 am Saturday (September 19, 2009), Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center, Jasper, Indiana.
He was born in Evansville, Indiana on November 16, 1920 to Frank and Barbara (Sickman) Haas. He married Rosa Jean Hughes on April 27, 1943.
Surviving, Wife, Rosa Jean Haas' Son, Steve Haas and his wife Sharon, Jasper, IN. 2 grandchildren, Keith Haas, Arvada, CO and Tonya Statler, St. George, UT and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Burow.
Robert was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked for the Indiana State Police (Jasper Post) in the communications department for 25 years. He retired as the chief communications director for the Jasper Post.
He is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper and American Legion Post # 147 in Jasper and Masonic Line Lodge #743.
Funeral services for Robert F. Haas will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (September 26, 2009) in Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper with burial to follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Carmi, Illinois. The Rev. Christopher Breedlove will officiate. American Legion Post # 147 will conduct military grave side rites at the church.
Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Friday (September 25, 2009)at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel and 1 hour before services at Trinity United Church of Christ.
Masonic Line Lodge #743 will have a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ.
