Robert V. Blaney, 89, Decatur, died Tuesday in Adams Memorial Hospital. He was born in Baileyville, Maine, on December 9, 1918, to Robert and Hattie Larkin Blaney. He married Evelyn Ann Fisher on June 21, 1958; she survives. He retired after 30 years with Motorola Emergency Radio Service and was a member of the American Radio Relay League, the Amateur Radio Club, and the Quarter-Century Radio Association. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Barbara) Rhinehart of New Bremen, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Dick (Melva) Strout of Pittsfield, Maine, and Mrs. Joe (Arlette) Canning of Wilmington, North Carolina; and five grandchildren. Two sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, with private burial services in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 4-7 p.m. Friday.
