Trueman T. Rembusch, 92, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at his residence in Indianapolis.
He was born in Shelbyville. He married Catherine (Finneran) Rembusch. She preceded him in death. He then married Mary Agnes (Finneran) Rembusch. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Cay Johnson and Grace R. Bill; three sons, Michael J. Rembusch of Franklin and Kevin J. and Patrick S. Rembusch; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He attended the University of Notre Dame.
He was a pioneer motion picture exhibitor. He owned Syndicate Theatres in Franklin from 1928 until he retired as president in 1997.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus St. Pius X Council 3433, Notre Dame Club of Indianapolis, NATO National Association of Theatre Owners, Variety Club Tent 10, Meridian Hills Country Club and Marco Island Country Club.
He was named Notre Dame Man of the Year in 1950. He served as past president of the Theatre Owners of Indiana, past national president of Allied States Association of Motion Picture Exhibitors, president of the State Fair Board and chairman of the Hoosier Hundred.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Leppert and Hensley Mortuary, Nora Chapel, in Indianapolis. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.
