Philip "Phil" Hunsberger, 71, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015.
Phil was born on November 1, 1943 in Kokomo, Indiana to Howard and Ellen Hunsberger. After graduating from Kokomo High School in 1962, he joined the United States Air Force. His career with the Air Force was prosperous for 20 years, having reached the rank of MSgt before retiring in 1986. During his military career, he was stationed all over the world. Phil advanced his education at Troy University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology, and Master of Arts degree in Management. He began working as a government employee with DOD Civil Service on August 1, 1987 and continued working until his death. Most recently, Phil was the Director of Education Services at Tyndall Air Force Base. In addition to Phil's military and professional careers, he was an avid lifelong, amateur radio operator.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Alicia "Alice" Hunsberger; son, Philip Hunsberger Jr.; two brothers, Laurel Hunsberger (Loydell) and Craig Hunsberger (Janice); sister, Pamela Hunsberger; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will commence at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 24, 2015 in the Chapel at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.
