Harold H. Beebe, 87, of Scottsdale, went to his final resting place on November 6, 2012. He slipped the surly bonds of earth as he had done so many times in his life of flying, put out his hand, and really touched the face of God. A retired Navy pilot (Commander Beebe) and a retired commercial airline pilot, his lifetime love of flight began at age 16. Shortly thereafter, he met his other lifetime love, his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth. Born and raised in Chicago during the Depression, he was a self-made man who ultimately led a rich, full, and well-traveled life. He not only saw the world, but talked with it as well as a Ham radio operator who "worked all countries." He spent the last 28 years of his life enjoying retirement with his wife in Scottsdale, Arizona. As his health failed in later years, he fought long and hard to preserve his quality of life. He will be remembered always for his dedication to providing for his family, his devotion to God, the strength of his convictions, and his wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth; his children Margaret Bruce of Arizona, Thomas Beebe of Illinois, Barbara Boza of Illinois, Betsy Reising of Nevada, and Matthew Beebe of Georgia; his 12 grandchildren Christie, Jessica, Colin, T.J., Jenny, Katrina, Jacquie, Scott, Brian, Jacob, Nicholaus, and Christian; and his five great grandchildren Elizabeth, Ayden, Andrew, Jack, and Tristan. Visitation will be held Friday, November 9, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm. Mass will be on Saturday, November 10, at 10:30 am at The Community of the Blessed Sacrament, 11300 N. 64th St., Scottsdale, followed by graveside services at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 23015 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix. |
