I have a Master's Degree from Stony Brook University, Long Island, New York. I'm a certified secondary Mathematics teacher. I'm also certified as an Early Childhood Teacher in New York City and New York State.
From 1978 to 1985 I did payroll for various school districts and agencies in Suffolk County, NY. My last position was payroll supervisor for the town of Smithtown, NY. We paid about 2,000 employees.
We moved to Florida in 1985 and even though I didn't have an amateur license, I have been active in various local radio clubs since then.
From 1995 to the present I have been doing Membership and Treasurer(with husband Mort, WA2ARS) for Chapter #45. I also update National records and request certificates for members of Chapter #45.
In 2002, I kept all financial records for QCWA National Convention in Kissimmee, FL. Received all reservations for convention, dinner, show, other events. Maintained the bank account and paid all bills.
From 2005 to 2010, I kept records for ticket requests, Commercial Vendor, Swap, Tailgate and RV reservartions for the Orlando, Florida HamCation. Kept all financial records and prepared reports for HamCation. Collected all monies, paid all bills and maintained bank accounts.
I worked with the accountant to convert the Orlando Amateur Radio Club from a 501C(4) to a 501(C3) non-profit organization. Also worked with accountant to prepare annual 990 income tax form for OARC.
I kept membership records for OARC and with Mort we acted as Treasurer from 2005 to 2010.
From 2001 to the present I have been treasurer of my Homeowner's Association. Keep petty cash. Maintain Cash Receipts and Disbursement schedule. Prepare annual budget.
In 2008, I was a member of Teller's Committee for 2008 QCWA Election
Mort and I received Presidental awards from National in 2005 and 2008.
In March 2011 I was made an Honorary Life Member of National QCWA
I received my Technician license in June 2011, call KK4CXK. I requested and received my Father's original call, WA2FRW. In February 2012 I received my Extra Class license.
Currently and for the last five years, I have helped set up the QCWA booth at local Hamfests, where I talk to members and prospective members. I usually attend five hamfests per year.
