On retirement from the ARRL Board, Fried Heyn was elected an Honorary VP. His past service to American Radio Relay League includes Vice President (2002-2004), Southwestern Division Director (1984-2002), member of the ARRL Executive Committee (1996-2002), numerous committee assignments included the A&F Committee, and chairman of the VRC and MSC. Other past positions include Vice Director, Section Manager, and offices in several Amateur Radio clubs and councils. He is a life member of ARRL, AMSAT, AMRAD, QCWA, and 10-10 International, plus a TAPR charter member. His activities cover ARES, NTS, RACES and MARS (AAT9TB). Awards include ARRL National Certificate of Merit, PSHR, BPL, DXCC (HR top) and CHC A-1 Operator. Fried holds an Extra class license and is a retired math teacher.
