Leslie P. 'Les' Hardie of Eugene died April 6 of age-related causes. He was 85. No service is planned.

He was born April 25, 1923, in Eugene. He married Carol Phinney on Aug. 13, 1943, in Eugene.

Hardie attended Oregon State University. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945 and was a prisoner of war from May 1944 to May 1945. He was a co-owner of W.S. Hardie General Contractors.

Survivors include a son, Michael Hardie of Bend; a daughter, Teresa Hardie Meyer of Sandy; a brother, Richard of Walnut Creek, Calif.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His wife died previously.
