Charles Bruce Kilen, 88 of Eugene, passed away June 12, 2014. Bruce was born on August 11, 1925 in Salem, Oregon to parents Margaret Louise (Umphrey) and Elias Kilen. He served his country in the Army Air Corps from September 1943 to October 1945. Bruce married Doreen Marie Park on June 13, 1948. He graduated from the U of O in 1949. He worked for First National Bank and later became a partner in Kohnen, Larson and Co. for 47 years. He was a member of First Congregational Church and enjoyed singing in the Eugene Gleemen, the church choir, the Eugene Concert Choir and Symphony Chorus. He enjoyed his family, traveling, camping, canoeing and sailing. He was active in Boy Scouts as a youth and with his sons. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doreen (Park) Kilen as well as a sister, Joann (Tom) Foster and sons Robert (Kathy) and Richard (Cathy). He has 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Bruce was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Donald. He loved his family and will be sorely missed by many including his religious community and countless family and friends. The memorial service will be on Tuesday, June 17th at 2:00pm at the First Congregational Church in Eugene. There will be a private burial at Willamette National Cemetery.
