I'm sorry to inform you that Jim passed away on Monday December 28 at Doctors Hospital in Sarasota from previous surgeries. There will be a memorial service on January 16 in the Sun City Center Atrium building. An invitation will be sent at a later date.

LEWIS, James W., 72, WB8GIP, of Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, died at Doctors Hospital in Sarasota December 28, 2009. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force, retired firefighter and fire prevention officer for the Truro Twp. Fire Department in Reynoldsburg, a member of American Radio Relay League for 50 years, past president of SCC Radio Club, president of QCWA Radio Club, member of Hillsborough County Sheriff' s Tactical Amateur Radio Club, Hillsborough County Sheriff' s Citizens Academy, National Weather Service, and SCC Security Patrol. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda, "Sam;" son, James (Miranda) Lewis; daughters, Sandra (James) White and Judith (Stevie) Shultz; brother, Robert (Grace) Lewis; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Mae Lewis; and brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Carol Lewis. A memorial service will take place January 16, 2010. Zipperer' s Funeral Home.
