Delta Township - Donald Leon Tillitson, 95, of Delta Township, passed away August 20, 2021 in Lansing, MI. Donald was born in Grand Ledge, MI on November 24, 1925, son of Leon and Jennie (Maloney) Tillitson. As a young boy Don enjoyed working with his grandpa on the farm, where he learned to be quite the handyman. He went on to work in appliance delivery and repairs for Eschtruth Appliance, served in the Army National Guard for 3 years; was a volunteer fireman for Grand Ledge, Delta Township, and Blue Lake, and retired as a machinist for Wohlert Corp. He was a former 4-H Leader, Deputy Sheriff, Red Cross Volunteer, worked with the National Weather Bureau and taught classes on tornadoes and what to watch for during extreme weather to fireman. Don enjoyed volunteering wherever he could, helping others, and loved spending time with his family. Don is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Mary Lou, daughters Donna (Paul) Enfield and Pat (Al) Sevrey; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren with one on the way; sister-in-law Lillian Tillitson; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Leon Tillitson, sister, Mildred Norris, and brother Ralph Tillitson. Graveside service with Military Honors will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Hillside Cemetery, Delta Twp. The family is being served by Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge.
