Howard, of Edmond, lost his 13 month battle with cancer on Friday. He loved his family, his friends, and his dogs. He touched many lives and everyone who knew him will feel his absence.
He was born in Oklahoma City, raised in Edmond, and attended Edmond High School. He pursued his higher education at both Cameron University and the University of Central Oklahoma.
Howard was a Sergeant in the US Army and completed two tours in the Vietnam War.
He was a licensed Electrical Contractor and owner of Wise Electric in Edmond until his retirement.
He was a member of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Howard has been active in several community groups including: Lions Club, Board of Directors of the Lions Boys Ranch, Edmond Amateur Radio Society, Secretary Treasurer of the QCWA, Oklahoma City Triumph Club, Boy Scouts of America and its honor society Order of the Arrow, as well as playing Santa for the residents of Oklahoma Christian Home for 25 years.
His parents Clara Wise and Howard O. Wise Sr., and his son Michael W. Wise preceded Howard in death. Howard is survived by his wife, Nancy of Edmond; son, Mark Wise and wife Beth of Edmond; daughter-in-law, Sheri Wise of Edmond; son, Frank of Germany; brother, Lawrence Wise of Guthrie; sister, Frances Coffee and husband Gene of Edmond; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond, OK on July 22 at 10:00AM.
Graveside service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

I received my call (WD5IDB) when I took the Novice Test and 5 wpm code in 1978, later on that year took General with 13 wpm code.
After that I rag-chewed on 10 meters and exchanged 10-10 numbers, worked Sooner Chapter of 10-10 Net getting Certificate # 35 L. I was NCS on Oklahoma Liaison Net in the 1980's along with being Army Mars.
During Ham Holliday July 1980 went thru The Royal Order of the Wouff Hong, Which today I don't remember much about it. In 1983 passed Advance Test and 20 wpm code. Took Extra Test in March 2015 and passed. I love Morse code.
