Tyler Burdick of Lynchburg, Virginia died September 25, 2012 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born September 20, 1922 to the Late Florence West Burdick and Tyler B. Burdick, Sr. He was twice married, first to the late Loretta Callahan Burdick. His surviving wife is Mildred (Millie) Padgett Burdick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Burdick Robert, a grandson, Bryon Burdick and a special nephew, Ken Robert. His survivors are a son, Greig Burdick and wife Linda, a grandson, Matthew Burdick and wife, Keisha, a great granddaughter, Lilly and a great grandson, Bryon Burdick, a daughter, Deborah Burdick Drozen and husband, Mel Drozen, two granddaughters, Allison and Sarah Drozen. Tyler was a faithful member of Fairview Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He was a member for sixty plus years and the Treasurer for thirty years. He was a professional commercial artist and a partner at Advertising Art Service. He had many interests: he entered the U. S. Coast Guard during WWII. He was a Radioman. He knew Morse Code, therefore he entered with a rating, he was a pilot and an amateur radioman - WT4B. Tyler will be cremated and his funeral will be at Fairview Christian Church at 3:00 p.m. Monday October 1, 2012. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home.
