Earnest Herald "E.H." Nail, 81, residing in Garland Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday Aug 19th, from unknown causes. Born September 27, 1936 on the back porch of his parent's home in Dallas Texas, he was the youngest son of the late Earnest Harold Nail Sr. and Ruth (Simpson/McCullar) Nail. He was preceded in death by his half siblings, Brother C.J. McCullar, and sister, B.J. McCullar.
E.H. is survived by his only son Kevin and wife Kim Nail, his two grandchildren Brittany and husband Tilden Leamon and Hunter and wife Courtney Nail, two great grandchildren, Tilden Clay Leamon II and Delia Kay Leamon and several other caring niece's, nephews and relatives.
After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High school in 1954. EH entered the Airforce becoming an aircraft electronics technician and achieving the rank of Airman 1st class. After receiving an honorable discharge at the end of his military service, EH entered SMU for one year then transferred to North Texas State University, graduating from there with honors receiving a bachelor's degree in business.
EH had a very successful business career in several industries and was very active with volunteer radio communications groups, most recently with the Garland Amateur Radio Club/RACES, the Dallas County Repeater Corporation in the 1980's and Dallas Count REACT in the 1970s.
A memorial service will be held for E.H. at 3:30 P.M. on Monday Aug 27, 2018 at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel, 1600 S Garland Avenue Garland Texas 75040.
In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the Garland Amateur Radio Club in EH's Name.
